Boil water in a tea kettle (samovar), put 1 teaspoon of tea per person into a teapot and put the teapot on the kettle. Pour boiling water from the kettle into the teapot. Turn down the flame under the kettle so that the tea is very hot but does not boil. Leave for 15 minutes. Pour brewed tea into a teacup or tea glass, no more than half full, and top up with hot water from the kettle. Add sugar to taste.
