LAUNCH OF THE NEW MWNF ONLINE EXHIBITION PLATFORM

On the occasion of the launch of the new MWNF online Exhibition platform, FBQ Museum hosted an international event, organised in two parts:

Round Table
The Round Table was conceived as an international MWNF Partner meeting to present the platform and discuss possible topics for exhibitions to be set up in cooperation with the MWNF Partner institutions. The presentation of the platform was based on a demo exhibition focusing on the topic of The Use of Colours in Art.

The Round Table took place on Sunday, 5 June and was attended by representatives from MWNF Partner institutions in Egypt, Ethiopia, Jordan, Portugal, Qatar, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Media Briefing
The Round Table was followed by a Media Briefing to announce the official launch of the new MWNF online Exhibition platform. The Briefing took place on Monday, 5 June at the premises of the FBQ Museum and was attended by local and regional media as well as by representatives of the participating country’s embassies and representatives of Qatari cultural institutions. The panel included the founder of FBQ Museum, His Excellency Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, the chairperson of MWNF, Eva Schubert, the General Manger of the Culture, Education, Leisure & Sport Cluster of Al-Faisal Holding, Mona El Helbawi and the head curator for Islamic Art at Glasgow Museums, Noorah Al-Gailani. The Briefing was followed by a guided tour through the Museum and a reception.

The event took place under the patronage of the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations.
