Vice President

Amr Hamdy Abdel Ghany, Cairo, Egypt, holds a Master of Science (Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems) from the University of London, a Master of Arts (Economics) and Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from The American University in Cairo. As the Regional Director for the World Scout Bureau (WSB) Arab Support Centre, he has successfully supported scouting growth within the Arab region (19 Arab countries) through various organization and program developments, as well as the coordination with government, non-government (NGO), private and international organizations.

Mr Hamdy served as the Director of the Career Development Centre for The American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, leading the transformation of the Centre and establishing partnerships with leading Executive Educational Institutes, government agencies and many other international associations. His experience as Executive Director of Executive Education for The American University in Cairo allowed him to develop multiple initiatives and programs, such as local case studies for education, development of curricula and others. These initiatives resulted in a complete turnaround of the organization and led the Executive Education to obtain accreditation by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) in the United States.

Succeeding this, Mr Hamdy was part of SchoolNet Africa (SNA) in Johannesburg, South Africa. Where he started as a Program Manager (and later acting Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director) of its leading program – "Mtandao Afrika," an information technology educational program in the form of competition for African youth to develop educational websites – his expertise resulted in establishing several partnerships with government and civil society organizations throughout Africa. Mr Hamdy has successfully managed the implementation of numerous workshops, seminars and three youth camps under the support of government officials. Incredibly, more than 6,500 students and teachers, throughout sixteen African countries, were able to become acquainted with information technology and programing skills as a result of the training workshops. His impressive professional and executive background have made him a valued participant and speaker at numerous events and conferences.

In 1999, Mr Hamdy joined Museum With No Frontiers (MWNF) as the New Technology Manager, where he assisted in many tasks, such as planning and implementing new technology applications to negotiation and liaising with Partners located throughout eleven Euro-Mediterranean countries. In 2001 he was appointed the Vice President of MWNF and began serving on the Board of Directors. His continued contribution to the growth of MWNF has been witnessed in many areas, such as the formulation of funding proposals for the European Union and the negotiation of Memoranda of Understanding with ministries of culture in the Arab region.
