Hegira 10th century (?) / AD 16th century (?)
This felt hat may be a typical head-covering worn by Turkish brides. The bridal headdress (külah) was always red and, depending on the bride's social status, decorated with silver and gold thread and small metal plaques. A veil (duvak) was attached to the tip of the hat with a jewelled pin.
