Spherical-shaped stone spindle whorl which has been perforated to allow the spindle or rod to fit in. The spindle whorl acts like a flywheel increasing momentum and weight while spinning the fibre to produce thread.

The excavation team in Dayer 'Alla dated this tool based on the pottery found in the near vicinity.
