About the Partnership

At the beginning of 2010, on the initiative of Ambassador Fathy El Shazly, member of the MWNF Honorary Committee, the League of Arab States invited Museum With No Frontiers to present the Discover Islamic Art Virtual Museum as an integral part of the Arab League’s stand at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai. As a result of this successful start, the Arab League and MWNF decided to further expand their cooperation.

In October 2010 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the League of Arab States Head Office in Cairo, with the purpose of providing the framework for a lasting partnership aiming to promote the Alliance of Civilisations through awareness about the history and culture legacy of the Arab World and better knowledge of Arab societies and countries. The cooperation covers a variety of fields including education, culture and tourism. Bilateral coordination meetings are held regularly to agree on the concrete programme of activities.
