This is a weekly activity (Fridays), carried out with the financial support of the Sustainable Cultural Heritage through the Engagement of Local Communities Project (SCHEP).
The aim is to demonstrate especially to the younger visitors to the Park why heritage is important and why we should preserve it. Through cooperation with local professional performers, messages on the significance of cultural heritage preservation were communicated to the children through simple and accessible short stories. The programme was successful and every week new faces were seen alongside those who had attended previously and had returned to listen to another story.
For the preparation of stories relating to Jordan’s Islamic history, story tellers were encouraged to refer to MWNF’s Discover Islamic Art Virtual Museum and Virtual Exhibitions.
